What’s new at the library?
Thank you, David Hopper
In my time as Library Director, I have had the pleasure to work with David Hopper in many capacities. Aside from being a regular patron, David joined the Friends of the Library around 2013 and helped, among other things, organize their annual book sale. In 2015, he became President of the Friends, who renovated the Teen Space and Fireplace Room during that time. In 2018, David retired from his post on the Friends and joined the Library Board of Trustees, taking over as Vice President shortly thereafter. In 2022, he took over as President of the Board and served until this month. In this role, David helped guide the library through the pandemic, drafted countless policies and procedures, and went above and beyond his roles to make this Library the institution it is today.
We are truly grateful for his dedication to furthering our mission and vision (heck, he even helped write it!), throughout his tenure.
On behalf of the staff and Trustees, I wish David and his wife Susan (who also used to be a volunteer storyteller!) well on the next phase of their lives.
When I say the place won’t be the same without you, I mean it! I have never known it without your tireless dedication and support throughout my entire tenure as Director.

From the Director
We’ve got great news for those of you who missed reading digital comics on Hoopla, and similarly great news for those of you who don’t even know what Hoopla is, and that’s our new online database, Comics Plus!
Comics Plus gives you unlimited access to thousands of digital comics, graphic novels, and manga from more than 100 publishers, without holds or wait lists for popular titles! A full list of what they have available would be overwhelming, so it’s probably best you go take a look for yourself! Download the app from https://comicsplusapp.com or check out the ‘Digital Checkouts’ page on our website.
To log in using the app, search using the library “Mid York Library System,” then select whether you want full access, Teen access, or Children’s access. After that, all you need is your library card and PIN. If you need help logging in, you can always contact a member of the circulation staff by stopping in or calling (315) 824-3060.
There’s always something new happening at the library, even online!
Thank you for reading, and especially for reading comics! Plus!
Highlights from last month

July was a very busy month at the library! We made tie-dye t-shirts, painted rocks, had lego day and toddler play date, and even had music in the park for kids!
