Upcoming Programs

The Summer Reading Program has begun!

We have lots of exciting events lined up for this summer, be sure to check out our calendar to get the full schedule.

Art Exhibit

Art by Lorrie Scheuerman and you!

This month we have two art displays going on. Hand painted acrylic art by local artist Lorrie Scheuerman, who’s style you may recognize from our community art show last summer, is displayed around our children’s room. And hanging from the ceiling in our back lobby and the children’s play area are cd’s painted and decorated by our very own patrons!

History Museum

Our Local History Museum has a new exhibit! “Number, Please!” was curated by the Hamilton Historical Commission and honors the female telephone operators of Hamilton. These women were providers of communication and are an important part of our village’s history.

Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Library helped us kick off the Summer Reading Program with an ice cream social attended by roughly 157 people! The Friends got the ice cream donated by Stewart’s and helped out by serving it during our program.

From the Assistant Director

The Summer Reading Program has arrived! We kicked it off Thursday, June 27th, with our ice cream social and registration event, that was a huge success! If you couldn’t make it, don’t worry, there’s still time to sign up.

If you’re not sure you want to sign up you should know we have a bunch of awesome prizes we are giving away randomly throughout the summer by raffle drawing. Even if you can’t be here often it’s okay. As long as you stop in once in a while to cash in your tickets you still have a chance to win!

Kids (and adults!) can track the time they spend reading and complete extra challenges to win raffle tickets. There’s no set time you need come in to collect your raffle tickets so don’t worry about missing your chance because you’re away on vacation.

We do have a few prizes that are adult specific, so adults, you want to sign up too! And yes, audiobooks and magazines count toward your reading goals!

If you, like us, have been enjoying all the programs we’ve had going on lately and have some ideas of programs we could do, or would like to be more involved in all the zany fun, you’re in luck! We are looking for a new program coordinator. If you’re interested or know of someone who might be interested please see the job description link above for more information! We look forward to hearing from you.
