From the Director
If you’re reading this, it may already be too late…
For the second annual Friends of the Library Pursapalooza!
Sorry for that spooky intro - as I write this it’s the day before Halloween. With all the costumes, candy, and scary book displays around, I can’t help myself from being a little ghoulish, even if this isn’t published until November. The Friends of the Library have worked hard to bring a really exciting fundraiser back, and there are still event tickets and raffle tickets available!
Stop by the library to purchase raffle tickets for one of four brand new, brand name purses for $5 each, or get five tickets for $20. You can also get event tickets at the circulation desk for $20, or if you like spending extra money and waiting until the last minute, you can buy an event ticket right at the door for $25.
Pursapalooza will be held on Sunday, November 5 at the Hamilton Inn from 2-5 p.m. There, you will have access to dozens of gently used purses and jewelry to purchase, raffles to enter, and each event ticket comes with hors d'oeuvres and a drink. If you like purses, even a little, you won’t want to miss this!
For those of you that are reading this too late, that’s ok! There is still a lot to do at the library, and instead of donating gently used purses, this month we’re partnering with Madison County Rural Health Council to collect new hats and mittens. Stop by and drop off something warm for folks in need.
That’s it for now, have a wonderful Veteran’s Day and Thanksgiving, and thank you for reading!
Highlights from last month

Kids had a lot of fun this month painting pumpkins, making pinecone birdfeeders and decorating monster cupcakes! In addition to our kids events we also had two new adult groups kick off, the Hamilton Community Book Club and Listen, Uplift, Comfort (LUC), a support group for widows. Both groups were met with great success.
