What’s new at the library?

Meet our newest staff member, Marley!

I love spending my days teaching my students and being outdoors. My favorite thing to do is spend time with my 14 year old dog Simba, and my family!

Help your child get a head start! 1000 books may seem like a lot, but by simply reading 3 books with them a day (repeat books are allowed) you can read 1000 books IN JUST ONE YEAR!

Upcoming Programs

It’s not too late to sign up!

The After School Program meets Tuesdays and Thursday from 3-4:30.

Tuesday is for students in grades K-2 and Thursday is for grades 3-5.

Art Exhibit

From the Director

Welcome to the first monthly e-newsletter from the Hamilton Public Library! Thank you for signing up to receive news and updates from your community library. Being our inaugural edition, this will probably also be our least-circulated newsletter, so congratulations to you, dear reader, for signing up early! Years from now, you can say to your friends, “I signed up for the Hamilton Public Library’s e-newsletter before it was cool!”

Thanks also to our Assistant Director Liza Taylor for making this e-Newsletter a reality. With the recent closing of the MidYork Weekly, getting our message out to our patrons is going to be an uphill battle. Here, we can still talk about upcoming events, recap successful ones, do the occasional book review, announce new staff members, comment on national trends in the library world and how they relate to us locally, and much, much more. Apologies in advance to Liza for taking on the additional role of ‘editor,’ who will most likely be frustrated with me in my new role as ‘contributor.’ I will do my best to keep to a word limit, submit by the deadline, and write in a clear and appropriate tone for our intended audience.

Speaking of our audience, if you are reading this, we need your help! Please tell a friend, family member, neighbor, random passerby, etc, about this publication. I’m not saying good luck will come to you if you pass it along to seven people, but it couldn’t hurt! Why not give it a shot?

Thank you for reading, and see you in a month!

Highlights from last month

We had a good turn out for our Hobbit day tea party! We had to be inside due to the cold weather but the tea and scones were a big hit and the kids had a great time making flower crowns!
