Support the library by going out to eat! 20% of all Gilligan’s sales will be donated to the Friends of the Library! You can also support the Friends by purchasing raffle tickets! There are 4 brand new designer purses being raffled off, stop by the library to see them in person and buy tickets!

Library Landscape

Autumn has arrived in the library butterfly garden, which currently features beautiful muted colors and textures from Black-eyed Susans, autumn sedum, and milkweed, all of which will remain in place over the winter to provide food and shelter for wildlife.

From the Director

It’s beginning to look a lot like fall in the library. Not only do we have spooky books on display and red and orange paper leaves adding some seasonal flair to our stacks, but also a small collection of pumpkins that were donated by a very kind patron. Thank you to Marissa Korona of Korona Premier Farms for the dozens of mini pumpkins around our main room. If you want to thank her in person, or maybe buy some pumpkins for your home, check out her family’s new farmstand at 3419 Center Road in Hamilton!

Whether you’re in the ‘spirit’ or not for the season, the colder days and longer nights may be perfect to pair with a good book. Or eBook. Or a movie night in. Or trying out that new video game you saw on our shelves a few months ago. Or, if you’re looking to get out and peep some leaves, you can check out our Empire Pass, Onondaga Parks Pass, or one of the many other parks passes provided by the Friends of the Library!

Too short of a column? Okay, let me think how else I can relate the fall to Hamilton Public Library services. Remember the aforementioned cold weather? Don’t even leave your house on cold days, because all patrons that reside in our service area are eligible for free pickup and delivery of library materials!

What I’m trying to say is fall, like every season, is a perfect time to stop by your local library. See you when you get here, and thank you for reading.

Highlights from last month

With the Summer Reading Program over we handed out lots of prizes to kids this month. We also had several programs including a talk by the Historical Society about the Chenango Canal and a Hobbit Party!
